I noticed that my husband was constantly digging something in the garden at night.
One day I couldn’t stand it anymore, took a shovel, and dug the ground myself — what I found there horrified me. 😱😨
Lately my husband had begun to act very strangely. He often disappeared from home and sometimes didn’t even come back at night. He was always busy with something, avoided conversations, and if I asked where he’d been, he answered shortly and irritably.
One night I woke up and noticed him, thinking I was asleep, slowly throwing off the blanket, putting on his shoes, and leaving the house.
My heart started pounding — I quietly got up and followed him.
He went straight to our garden, looked around as if afraid someone was watching him, then took a shovel and started digging the ground.
I stood in the dark, barely breathing, and watched as he dug a small hole, threw something inside, and quickly covered it back up. I didn’t manage to see what exactly he buried, but his behavior scared me to the point of trembling.
The next night he went outside again, and everything repeated.
In the morning, after waiting for him to leave for work, I took a shovel and went to the garden together with our dog. When we approached the place where he had been digging at night, the dog suddenly went frantic — she began barking loudly, digging the ground, as if she sensed something terrible.
The deeper she dug, the stronger my fear grew. 😱😨 And soon I saw what my husband had hidden in the ground. I was horrified.

Soon I saw the edge of an old sack. A heavy stench of rot and dampness rushed out from under the soil. I stepped back, but the dog kept digging until the sack was fully visible on the surface.
My hands trembled as I opened it. Inside were remnants of clothing, women’s shoes, and the thing that made my blood freeze — a human skull.
I screamed and fell to my knees, unable to believe my eyes. At the bottom of the sack was a pendant — I recognized it immediately. Several years ago I saw that exact pendant on the neck of a girl who used to date my husband.
He told me she had “moved abroad” and that it had been over between them long ago.
I realized he wasn’t just hiding a secret — he had taken revenge on her, and then buried the traces of his crime right under our windows.
And now, knowing this, the only thing I fear… is the night.
Because he will definitely notice that the soil has been dug up again.
