The man often spent time at the zoo.
Long before the accident, when he could still walk, he had worked there as a caretaker — he loved the animals, and the animals loved him.
After retirement, he came almost every Saturday — he would sit for a long time near the cages, watching how the animals ate, played, argued… and felt once again that he belonged to that place.

That day everything seemed ordinary, until something incredible happened.
The man, in his wheelchair, stopped near the gorilla enclosure, watching calmly.
Suddenly, a female approached the glass wall, looked directly at him and suddenly grabbed the handles of the chair.
She began pulling the chair toward her.
Visitors and caretakers ran in fear, trying to pull the wheelchair back, but the gorilla was far too strong.
In a few seconds, she managed to pull him close to the cage and lifted him together with the chair, lowering him carefully inside the pen.
“— Quickly, the tranquilizer! — someone shouted. — There’s a man in the gorilla pen!”
Everyone gathered around.
The man sat motionless, knowing how dangerous these animals could be.
He was convinced the end was near.
But then something happened that left everyone speechless 
Instead of attacking him, the gorilla slowly approached, gently wrapped her arms around him and pulled him to her chest, rocking him like a child.
The caretakers froze.
The crowd at the fence suddenly went silent.
“— She remembers him…”
The gorilla held him carefully, without aggression, only with a strange tenderness.
Then, just as calmly, she put him back in the chair and pushed the wheelchair close to the edge of the pen.
The employees ran to get him out.
The man said nothing, but tears were streaming down his cheeks.
She had recognized him.
It was the very gorilla he had raised and saved many years ago.
